The Kershaw Shallot has a 3.5" blade made from Sandvik 14C28N. This steel has high hardness, good corrosion resistance, and excellent edge stability and sharpness. Sandvik 14C28N is also easily sharpened. The Tungsten DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) coating adds to the hardness of the knife, reduces friction when slicing, and improves corrosion resistance while making the blade non-reflective.

SpeedSafe assisted opening allows the knife to be deployed by using the flipper. The torsion bar keeps the blade in place, requiring you to manually open it and preventing gravity from opening the blade by itself. Then the frame lock makes sure your blade stays open until you press the spring-loaded lock to tuck it back into the handle.

The 4.38" handle is designed to be comfortable in larger hands. It is made from 410 stainless steel for exceptional wear and corrosion resistance and is coated with DLC to make it non-reflective and to prevent rust. Mild jimping on the handle assists with grip. Overall, the knife is 7.88" long and weighs 4.2 ounces.
