Congratulations: you just met the camping knife of your dreams. The Becker Campanion BKT-2 is a heavy duty knife made by KA-BAR's Becker Knife and Tool line. This full tang knife is 1/4 inch thick, making it strong enough for any outdoor activity, including chopping hardwood. Yes, chopping.
The BKT-2 has a 5.25" flat ground blade made of 1095 Cro-Van carbon steel. This softer steel is less brittle than its counterparts so it won't chip during hard chores, holds an edge well, and sharpens quickly and easily in the field. The steel is coated with matte black epoxy powder to reduce reflection and resist corrosion and since it is a drop point blade, it is excellent for field dressing or skinning game.
The handle is made of solid black grivory, a glass fiber filled nylon with great strength and durability. Its ergonomic design feels comfortable even in small hands and it is made with an oversized lanyard hole for convenience. Overall, the knife is 10.5" long and weighs one pound.
The BKT-2 comes with a sheath made from Kydex, a strong, abrasion resistant plastic. It also has a click and snap loop to keep the knife secure.
