Testing the Condor Quick Release Plate Carrier for fit was a key consideration of the functionality of the carrier; it is a moot point if the user is protected by armor but cannot ably manipulate gear and weapons using the armor. With certain plate carriers I have tested in the past, movement and weapons manipulation were hindered by the carrier itself, subtracting a big portion of value for the end-user. I am sure many have shared this sentiment. To this end, I have tested and evaluated the Condor QRP Carrier by itself, with soft armor inserted, and with soft armor and hard plates inserted. All while manipulating carbines, handguns, and the gear attached to the use of both. Below are my personal thoughts and unbiased impressions. - The Condor QRP Carrier is custom fitted using hook and loop closures, in addition to built-in elastic on the internal cummerbund attachment points. - I wear a size 32 waist, 40 chest, and on the tightest setting, the plate carrier fit me well. I would recommend the plate carrier for larger waist and chest sizes, as I used the QRP on the tightest setting, and users with larger body types would find the fit very comfortable to their sizes, as it adjusts up many sizes (from the adjustable cummerbund unit specs, it would fit a size 40 and above waist, fine, and a size 48 and above chest, also). - The neck portion, where not very fitted on many QRP's, on the Condor, is very user-friendly and adjustable for fit. Adjustments are via the same QRP internal system of washers and straps that form the ingenius backbone of the QRP system. The internal neck straps and the cummerbund both use the same internal system of straps to adjust for fit; the straps are linked by the QRP release strap that is made of very sturdy and stiff material. Once the straps are adjusted, the user simply adjusts the outer fit by removing the hook and loop flaps and re-proportioning them to fit their body. -Fit with body armor; body armor accounts for about 2 -5 inches of extra width, and is easily accommodated by the Condor QRP carrier. With Lvl IIIA soft armor installed, I tested the armor for mobility and ease-of-use with carbine and handgun systems. It performed well when many other QRP carriers would have hindered movement around the arms and upper shoulder areas, disturbing the dynamics of shouldering and firing a carbine or handgun. The QRP allowed proper clearance in this aspect, and standard carbine-shouldering and handgun stances were both able and possible with the Condor QRP carrier. - With the insertion of SAPI plates - both front and rear - the carrier, as expected, became stiffer. However, the points of contact with the body were not affected; the carrier did not become an independent "shell" and still retained its fit and form. This is a positive aspect. In the firing and reloading of handguns and rifles while moving, the Condor QRP carrier performed admirably.

Comfort is important, to repel unneeded distractions to the user. Just as proper comfort is necessary in footwear, any external clothing and gear such as a plate carrier should not unnecessarily cause the user grief stemming from discomfort. The Condor QRP carrier, when unboxed, was not fitted properly to my measurements. However, it took virtually 5 minutes or so to learn how the system worked and adapt to it. Adjustments were simple and no instructions were needed - or used. :) With the ease and expediency of "plug and play" gear, the Condor QRP carrier reminds the user of a very functional, no frills carrier that performs as advertised. When mounted on the upper body and fitted using the straps and hook and loop closures, the Condor QRP carrier sits very snugly - but not excessively - and moves with the user. This is very important; for the carrier to move when you move. Without this aspect, a carrier (especially one that is loaded with gear) can cause stress and torque on the upper body of the user, loading fatigue and even injury to the body. The Condor QRP, when used outdoors while moving and shooting, did not cause unwanted discomfort or chafing. One appreciated aspect of the carrier was that the manufacturer included thin foam padding inserts into the front and rear of the carrier (both of which are removable, if desired) and on the shoulder straps. Users that mount a large amount of weight will find that the padded shoulder attachments are a welcome relief (they are also removable).

An honest analysis of the plate carrier in terms of durability can only arrive through a long-term use of the carrier in various environments and situations. As of this point in time, however, I can accurately say that the carrier is made of very strong stitching and 500 Denier Cordura. I expect the carrier to stand up to the same use as those that are carried by law enforcement. I have used similar carriers in the past that were fielded overseas, and the quality of the Condor QRP carrier appears to be of the same level.

Purchasing the carrier in Olive Drab, I expect that all the other color and design options all suffer from the same wonderful low-profile and attractive finish. The coloring is very even with no blotching or splashes, and the material used (500D Cordura) is not reflective nor bright. The carrier is available in Crye multi-cam and other colors. Compared to other carriers I have tested in the past, I prefer the low-profile styling of the Condor.

Moving with the carrier is with ease, as is the use of the carrier with mounted pouches and magazines. The MOLLE on the carrier kept all magazines securely in their pouches and without failure. Shooting both long guns and handguns was also practical with the carrier and armor mounted; Condor certainly made sure it would function with an aptitude often not expected by the price-points at which this carrier exists. I would place the practical aspect of this carrier in the very high marks.

Unboxing the carrier, I immediately noticed no stray stitching or frayed material. 500D Cordura is not exactly the easiest textile material to stitch, but Condor has ensured that this carrier be made to a higher standard than offered by other manufacturers at this price-point. The stitching is very on-point and linear, and there are certainly no "odd" ends in and about the carrier. Simply said, it is made with quality in mind. - Jonathan University of Texas Pistol Captain

The Quality is excellent.Well built, no loose strings, and strong durable material that feels will last a lifetime.The design of the vest is also excellent, with large amounts of M.O.L.L.E webbing for your basic or thorough needs, and room to expand for both gurth and height generally up to sizes 2XL/XXL...This Condor (Q.R.P.C) does not feel like a cheap or inexpensive Airsoft vest would expect from a company that was previously only considered on the sphere of the Airsoft industry.Unlike most other plate-carriers: with the Condor (Q.R.P.C) you can place both soft-armor and plates instead of mainly just the plates... The quality is flawless in my opinion, and the Performance? I do not see this vest giving me any issues or defects anytime soon...The Performance of the Quality of the Condor (Q.R.P.C) is impressive...It took hours to weave my pouches in and out, because the (M.O.L.L.E) heavy-weight PWC Codura-Nylon webbing wouldn’t budge and so tight with amazing stitch work.

I have went through several styles of vest carriers over the years and I have to say that this is hands down the best one I've had. Easy to put together and easy to figure out how the quick release system works. Well stitched so it doesn't start fraying under hard use. The plate pockets are well balanced and fit my issued hard and soft armor. I would highly recommend this vest, well worth the money I spent and more

I am 170 lbs/ 5'9". I like the fit, cut and shape. My agency issued soft body armor fits nicely and the ballistic plates also fit in the plate pockets.

I mod'd my vest; sewed a small loop of 550 cord in the back, punched an extra hole on the quick release strap (in the back) and sewed velcro on the side flaps. This allowed me to remove the entire adjustable cumberbun which eliminated alot of middle bulk.

The carrier has excellent construction and a tight, solid feel. This carrier is well worth the wait, cost and my easy mod. I wish these were issued by the agency.

BUY IT and you will be very satisified.
