GearGuide Entry:Combat Gloves Info: April 25, 2013
Kevlar Knuckles
When looking at the best combat gloves we need to take look at a few things. The best of the best are similar to wearing lightweight brass knuckles. Some of the best ones allow for flexibility in the palms and fingers. Some even are made of high end material that allow for mobility in extreme temperatures.
As with all armor it tends to be more high end on the cost, ranging from 50 to 100 dollars. Considering some of the gloves have expensive items and high end mobility material in the best
combat gloves
this is well worth the price.
Some of these gloves will also end up being used in the ACU ( Army combat uniform) so it's also best to consider this while shopping.
The two major products that perform the best are WileyX and Oakley. WileyX boasts Kevlar and injection molded plastic covered plates on it's web page. The testimonials of the WileyX page sports that the glasses and the gloves were responsible in saving the eye sight and the hands of many of our men and women in uniform. The gloves were also mentioned several times of not being bulky at all, and being up to specs to the strict uniform guidelines that the ACU is under.
The Oakley gloves seem to be very streamlined on it's web page aiming towards mobility over protection. They are also in a number of colors , perhaps being more marketed towards bikes and skateboards then high end combat.
In the end it's hard to say what the best gloves are. It's probably depends on what your shopping for. Soldiers would opt for something up to specs for their ACU and in the end with it's injected molded plastic covered plates and Kevlar protected knuckles Wileyx would be the combat gear I would go with. The testimonials on the web page also seem to speak for themselves. If your trying to find the best protection for that bike race your in then perhaps the mobility of the Oakley products are something your looking for. Perhaps it's neither of these product lines, and something entirely different. Like I said it all depends on what your looking for.
