It is also advisable to wear double layer of socks. A double layer of socks can be a tremendous help in preventing the formation of blisters by not allowing moisture to be in contact with your feet during hiking.

When trying on a pair of boots, make sure you test them by walking them around for a bit. Make sure that it fits perfectly even after you walked them around for a bit. Some, shoe store have an angled waking surface, test the hiking boots and see how it feels when it is on a different surface.
